Five elementary school principals subject of new ATA publication

A new publication from the Alberta Teachers’ Association provides timely insight into the role of the school principal.

Reflecting on Leadership for Learning—Case Studies of Five Alberta Elementary School Principals, based on research conducted by Jim Parsons and Larry Beauchamp, professors at the Faculty of Education, University of Alberta, provides an intimate glimpse of daily life in the province’s elementary schools.

A unique feature of the study is that the researchers interviewed not only the principals but also teachers in the five schools.

The study reflects the Association’s commitment to undertake advanced research designed to help schools in Alberta meet the learning needs of all students.
